RAC Attack is a community project owned and lead by the community.
RAC Attack is a free curriculum and platform for hands-on learning labs related to Oracle RAC (cluster database), motivated by the belief that the best way to learn RAC is through lots of hands-on experience. – RAC Attack Website
The goal of RAC Attack is to promote and teach RAC technology through hands-on labs. The core component of the project is a book that carefully describes the installation process of a two-node Real Application Cluster on a laptop with Virtual Box and Linux VMs.
RAC Attack isn’t just about RAC. During the workshop you learn how to setup one of the most complex infrastructures on your laptop. You learn how to configure and clone virtual machines, how to create and setup internal and external virtual networks, create different storage types, setup a local DNS server and other challenging components. – RMOUG Training Days
Beside the book, RAC Attack labs and workshops are organised all around the world by Oracle User Groups, Oracle Technology Network (OTN Tours), private companies and technology enthusiasts.
Traditionally, RAC Attack is a meeting place for many technology enthusiasts and big names in the world of Oracle technology. – Pythian Blog
We, the RAC SIG, do not own or lead the RAC Attack, nor we are organising it officially, but we promote it and encourage people to attend the events and participate actively in RAC Attack development and organisation. Moreover, many of our board members are active contributors to the project.
If you want to organise a RAC Attack event in your country but you don’t know how to do it, just let us know and we will help you in getting started.
